Ministry of Education invites applications from qualified graduates to sit for the Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment to the Sri Lanka Teacher Service – 2026, to fill Sinhala, Tamil, and English medium teacher vacancies in National and Provincial Schools island wide.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduates from a recognized university or degree-awarding institution.
- Must have completed the relevant subject requirements as specified in the Gazette.
- Applicants should not be in government service as at the specified cut-off date (special conditions apply for certain categories as per Gazette).
- Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
- Age Limit-Below 40 years
Examination & Selection
- Recruitment will be based on a written competitive exam followed by interviews/practical tests, .
- Appointments will be made based on merit order and available subject-wise vacancies.

- Permanent appointment with pensionable benefits.
- Salary according to GE 01 – 2025 salary scale, along with government allowances
